Male Fashion Star of the Week

December 3, 2010

Well dressed men are a bit of an anomaly here at ‘Cuse. You know, most guys wear the typical uniform: sweatpants, sweatshirt, baseball cap…occasionally they change it up with jeans and some white sneaks, sometimes Tims, sometimes Converse, sometimes even some fancy leather laceups. But, you rarely see some one with true style.

So, when I ran into Gabriel, an SU senior in the School of Architecture, I just had to stop him and ask him some questions about his style and give him a shoutout.

Like a GQ model

Browsing the Magazine Racks at the Schine Bookstore downstairs

It’s rare that I give a 100% approval mark for any one. But this man certainly deserves it. So men, take notes.

What do I like?

  • Stand out wool coat
  • Dark denim jeans that fit perfectly
  • Black Leather Gloves
  • Stylish glasses
  • Gray turtle neck
  • Flattering hair cut

It’s no surprise that I caught him browsing the men’s magazines in the bookstore. When asked what his favorite magazine was, he answered, hands down, “GQ,” which has great fashion editorials and tips for mens’ fashion.

Gabriel’s fashion is sophisticated, classy, and cool. His outfit is winter perfection. Warm, stylish, comfortable, and versatile.

Here are some pieces that you can purchase for yourself (or your boy) to echo Gabe’s tailored and classic look:

Heritage Shawl-Collar Full-Zip Sweater in Medium Gray, $185 at Banana Republic

Paired in the style of Gabe

Jack & Jones Intelligence Sam Toggle Coat $224.14 at

Ag Jeans Protege Straight Leg Kent Wash $179 at Nordstrom

Black Leather Gloves by Orciani $84 at

There you go. That’s all she wrote.
