Save those flip-flops until the Spring!

November 3, 2010

One thing that I absolutely cannot believe that I have been seeing are flip flops on campus. In 40 degree weather, some boys and girls will still go outside in these teeny weeny thongs. What a sight to see: A girl wearing a hat, Northface fleece, jeans, and FLIP FLOPS. Am I missing something? What would propell someone to brace chill-to-the-bone weather in the most open shoe possible.

Did these poor civilians forget that it’s winter? Perhaps their clocks have been set back. Or are they so warm-blooded that they are immune to cold? Or maybe they are that lazy that they aren’t willing to spend an extra 9.8 seconds in the morning to put on a pair of boots (even running sneakers would be better!).

I was never one to like the $3 flip flop from Old Navy trend anyways; but seeing this look overused year after year by witless students really confuses me that much more. If I was the mother of these offenders I would make them change “this instant!” before heading off to class; but I’m not. I’m only a mere fashion critique. 😦

Do your part and prevent people from freezing their asses off. Say No to Flip Flops after Halloween!
