Hello Orange!

September 29, 2010

Red is so this summer. The look of red lips à la Marilyn Monroe inspired a vintage revival  for the summer of 2010. Bold waves, thick black eyelashes, and the audorable romper completed the pinup look.

Well with a new season comes a new look. I don’t know about you but I’m exstatic for fall. I can’t wait to break out my Ralph Lauren biker chick boots, leather leggings, and cozy knits sweaters. Now that the leaves are on the ground in Syracuse, why not match your lips to the autumn leaves?

I am loving the look of orange hued lipstick. Surprisingly, the look is not as bold as it may seem. Just a hint of orange on a bare face pallet can compliment most skin tones. From tangerine to coral, makeup brands are coming out with a full range of orange shades.

I just bought Clinique’s Colour Surge Butter Shine Lipstick. What do I love about it? Everything. With a one coat application, my lips transform from chapped and colorless to intensely smooth and juicy va-va-voom puckers. My color of choice is ambrosia: not too bright, not too settle, not too orange..just right!

If you find yourself on campus take advantage of the Clinique counter at the SU bookstore. They carry the full line of Clinique lipcolor shades as well as other fall makeup essentials like rose blush and chocolate eyeliner. Or order online from the ultimate beauty source (just make sure that you keep your impulse buying under lock and key! Do you really need another moisturizing hand cream??)

So girls welcome in the fall with your orange lips and kiss summer goodbye.
